Effective visualisation can help make sense of the mass of information that we are presented with on a day to day basis and help turn unstructured data into knowledge.
This applies to technical information such design drawings where there is a direct correspondence with physical items; conceptual relationships, such as business processes and geographical or location based information.
It is estimated that 80% of company knowledge is in the heads of the staff. Unlocking and sharing even part of this knowledge can improve efficiency by making better use of what already exists in an organisation without re-inventing processes that are currently in place and operating satisfactorily.
Good visualisation can both support understanding of a subject and communicating the result when it has been analysed. It can also assist in unleashing creativity and so achieve innovative solutions to what may have been intractable problems.
When the parameters of a process to be modelled are understood, our task is to ensure the collection, harnessing and the sharing of information is achieved in the simplest and most effective way.

The tools we use to do this are Microsoft Visio and MapPoint. These are readily available at a low cost and as they form part of the widely used Microsoft Office are easily learnt. The maximum benefit of good visualisation is only obtained if the resulting solution is well integrated with existing systems so Cypad pay particular attention to ensuring this happens. |
